Our approach
Crafted by hand. Defined by light.
A home takes shape through its details: the proportion of a room, the materials that meet at an edge, and the way daylight moves across a wall.
CRAFTTERA brings those surfaces into focus.
We approach decorative finishes as part of the architecture. Color, texture and sheen are considered in relation to the surrounding stone, wood, furnishings and light. Each decision contributes to how the room feels as a whole.
Our work centers on four finishes: limewash, Roman clay, Venetian plaster and microcement. Each offers a different expression, from soft tonal movement and velvety matte texture to layered depth and continuous architectural surfaces.
The process begins with your space. We consider how the room is used, how the light changes and how much movement you want to see in the finish. Samples help turn that direction into something tangible, giving color and texture a place in the conversation before application begins.
Hand application brings individuality to the surface. The craft lies in controlling that variation: balancing movement, resolving transitions and giving every edge the attention it deserves.
Serving select Orange County communities, CRAFTTERA is built around a focused, personal approach. We work with homeowners and design professionals who value thoughtful material choices, clear communication and carefully executed details.
Our aim is to create a finish that feels connected to the home from the beginning, with depth that reveals itself in the light and character that rewards a closer look.
What premium means here
Proof, not adjectives.
Material chosen for the space
We record what the room needs, its limits and our recommendation before suggesting a finish.
A considered decision
Color, texture and sheen are agreed on a physical sample, seen in your own light.
Attention to detail
Corners, edges, transitions and where the finish meets stone or wood are planned, not left to chance.
Clear organization
Written scope, stages, one point of contact and changes agreed in writing before they happen.
A protected home
An agreed plan for covering, dust control and the work zone, cleaned at the end of each day.
Care you understand
Care notes written for the specific material applied in your home.
How a project runs
Six steps, agreed in writing.
- Project conversation
Send your city, a few photos, the surface and an approximate size. We reply with first thoughts and a time to visit.
- On-site consultation
Free of charge. We look at the light, the surfaces and how the room is used, measure, and talk through finish options.
- Written estimate
Scope, preparation, the finish system, timeline and price, itemized. Nothing starts until you approve it.
- Custom sample
Once the estimate is approved, we make a sample in your color, texture and sheen, and you approve it in your own light.
- Application
The room is protected, the substrate prepared, and the finish applied by hand, layer by layer, on the agreed schedule.
- Final review and care
We walk the finished surface with you and leave care notes for the material applied.
Variation
Why no two walls are identical
Samples help establish the color, texture and level of movement for your space. A hand-applied surface varies across a wall, and that variation is part of its character. We agree on the acceptable range before we begin.
