What moves a price

Why two rooms of the same size can cost differently

  • Surface condition. Cracks, uneven walls or old texture add preparation time.
  • Height and access. Walls above 10 ft, stairwells and scaffolding take longer.
  • Shape. Curves, niches, arches and many corners take more hand work than a flat wall.
  • Finish and sheen. A high polish takes more coats and burnishing than a matte finish.
  • Color. Custom or deep colors and metallic effects can change materials and coats.
  • Wet areas. Showers need waterproofing and a full sealer system.
  • Schedule. Work outside normal hours or a compressed timeline.

Questions about price

Pricing questions

How much do plaster finishes cost per square foot?

Typical ranges are $10–16 per sq ft for limewash, $14–20 for Roman clay, $16–22 for Venetian plaster in Marmorino or polished, $18–24 for Travertino and $35–50 for microcement. Your written estimate depends on the surface, height, color and the finish system.

What is your minimum project?

Projects start at $1,800. Every project includes a visit, protection of the room, preparation and several days of layered work, so a small piece such as a single niche is priced at the minimum.

Is the on-site consultation free?

Yes. We visit, look at the surfaces, the light and how the room is used, take measurements and talk through finish options. There is no charge for the visit.

When do you make a custom sample?

After you approve the estimate. We then make a sample in your chosen color, texture and sheen, and application begins once you approve the sample in your own light.

Is your estimate fixed?

Your estimate is written and itemized, and the price holds for the scope it describes. Any change is agreed in writing before the extra work is done.

What deposit do you take?

California law limits the down payment on a home improvement contract to $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. We follow that rule, and the balance is paid as stages of the work are completed.
